Hen’s Friday Night Adventure: Act One – Large Works and more

Friday night, I hopped over to downtown Easton for the opening of the ACE (Arts Community of Easton) Fall Members Exhibit, “Act One – Large Works.” The show runs October 3 through December 3, 2025, at the State Theatre (@statetheatrepa) in the Lehigh Valley Health Network Gallery.

It was one of those evenings where creativity filled every inch of the space — bold canvases, layered stories, and artists who know how to turn emotion into something you can stand in front of.

✨ Highlights from the Night

Sparkle & Whimsy
I started the night with a dazzling cat cake collage by @lulupenrose.art. Rhinestones, lace, kittens, and Care Bears — it was like someone baked nostalgia and glitter into a single piece of art. I may have leaned in a little too close hoping for frosting.

Emotion in Motion
“Color of Life” by @paintinibgsbyfreeman came next — a vivid abstract painted during the pandemic. Every brushstroke feels alive, balancing chaos, reflection, and renewal. It’s the kind of work that hums while you look at it.

Collage Conversations
My friend @asmithjrnyc's three-dimensional collage pulled me in for a closer look (literally). Layers of color, faces, symbols, and spontaneous energy collide in a way that feels both intentional and wild — a visual conversation you never want to end.

Stillness & Light
A few steps away, @danyfilmphotos captured serenity with a photograph of a floral urn on a quiet lawn. The composition and soft light felt timeless — the kind of image that lets you breathe slower for a moment.

Memory & Gaze
“Glance Back” by @peteritalianophotography blended digital artistry with classic portraiture. Soft purples, shadows, and gold accents draw you in — a perfect balance between emotion and design.

Quiet Power

Connor McGaughran @nihxilist created one of the most striking pieces in the show — a black-and-white diptych that feels both reverent and modern. The two figures, framed with halos of light, seem to exist in dialogue — timeless, introspective, and quietly magnetic.

Words That Landed
Later that evening, I met @iambrandonavery from @thesocialtour. His piece, boldly framed in red, simply read: “More Love.” Underneath, in tiny letters, “f** hate.”* A clear, powerful message — the kind that sticks with you.

Sunshine & Hope
Before heading home, I stopped at a small, glowing painting by @krystalized999. A sunny field of flowers dotted with tiny white fairies — simple, joyful, and healing. It felt like the exhale at the end of a long, beautiful night.

🎭 Final Thoughts

Act One – Large Works is a celebration of bold ideas and community spirit. Every piece — from the glittering to the introspective — adds something unique to the conversation.

If you’re anywhere near Easton, make sure to visit the exhibit before December 3, 2025, at the State Theatre. It’s a perfect reminder that art isn’t just something you look at — it’s something you feel.

Until next patrol,
🐸 Hen
